One of Gary Megson's odder signings, on the face of it. As the transfer deadline approached in August 2005, Forest were (as usual) on the hunt for a striker; the team were taking their time to gel and they particularly needed a big powerful centre forward to complement Scott Dobie... if nothing else to free up Gareth Taylor to play at the back! He'd had one relatively prolific season at Tranmere, but otherwise his stats suggested a forward no better than the ones we already had at the time.
If only he had turned out to be that good! In fact, he lived down to all the gloomiest of predictions - indeed, his performance on a rainy night in Woking in the Leyland Daf Vans Trophy set a new benchmark low for abject perfrormances by a Forest forward in my lifetime; in a game when Forest fielded a very young side and were looking to the more experienced players, such as Dadi, to set an example, he was mardy, uninterested, couldn't trap a bag of cement, spent the match complaining and generally gave the impression that he regarded this most dismal of defeats as the fault of everybody but himself. He departed, initially on loan across the river, completely unmourned shortly afterwards.
Awful.
