Big, hugely experienced central defender signed by Gary Megson from the Blunts immediately before the 2005-2006 season started. Cullip made an immediate impact, looking much the most accomplished of our defenders and appearing to have a positive attitude to helping his team-mates; despite being injured, for instance, he regularly insisted on travelling with the squad during the brief Charlie-and-Frank charge for the play-offs in Spring 2006 in order to take part and to cheer them on.

He could also play a bit in a solid no-nonsense lower divisions way - he lacked pace, but was big, powerful in the tackle and a good communicator (witness a masterclass to a low in confidence Wes Morgan away at Cheltenham in Cullip's second season, when the crowd was small enough for us to be able to hear what he was saying clearly).

On the other hand, Danny had a bit of an attitude and appeared not to be very enchanted with life after being dropped following a horror show at Oldham - Forest were thrashed 0 - 5, conceded two penalties and had both Cullip and Sammy Clingan sent off. Whether he let his feelings be known rather too forcefully, or whatever, is not entirely clear - but he found himself ushered through the door to Loftus Road only a few weeks later.

Last Game:
1 January 2007 vs Oldham Athletic (Boundary Park)
Coca-Cola League One : lost 0 - 5 (sent off in conceding Forest's second penalty of the match)

Sold to:
Queen's Park Rangers, 31 January 2007 (Undisclosed Fee)
